Our History

In 1993, a small group of volunteer and career firefighters from the community of Pedley began supporting families with toys and food during the holiday season.  Within a few years, firefighters from the communities of Pedley, Glen Avon, Mira Loma, Rubidioux, and West Riverside joined together to support the greater community of Jurupa Valley.  As the community grew, so did the need and by 2005 the program began to transition into a community based 501C3 organization.  By 2009 the annual holiday adoption program was providing food, household supplies, health and beauty aids, and toys to over 100 families and 150 senior citizens.  Partnering with the Cal Fire/County of Riverside Fire Department Spark of Love program, the organization began to lead collaborative efforts to support numerous local non-profits and today provides toys to as many as 7,500 children a year.

Twenty three years ago, the program was created as a way to help needy families during the holidays. Through the years we have brought holiday cheer to tens of thousands of children and provided much needed food and supplies to over 1,200 families. Each year the number of families we support has grown and unfortunately, we now are starting to see new generations of the same families seeking our support. Sadly, the cycle of poverty in many of these families will continue without additional outside intervention. As a result, we expanded the role we play in this community to include empowering families throughout the year.

For years it was our dream to develop programs that will move families from poverty to self-sufficiency. Through the wonderful support of the greater community, a very generous contribution made by the Koh Charitable Foundation, owner of Oak Quarry Golf Club, and a donor asking to remain anonymous, the dreams came true.

In  2015 we introduced our opportunity development program. The program was centered on building resources for members of our community to assist them in developing skills needed for attaining gainful employment, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and improving their quality of life. We also wanted to support our youth by providing them with tools that can be used to get into and pay for higher education.

This program was kicked off with the introduction of our scholarship program. In 2015 the program provided $8000 in scholarships to high school seniors in Jurupa Valley who went on to attend a four year university. In 2016 we are offering over $10,000 in scholarships and we hope that continues to grow.  Our organization has now expanded into five key programs;

• Santa Express Parade and Holiday Giving
• Youth Development
• Senior Assistance
• Health and Safety
• Career Assistance

With your continued support we look to enhance the great programs already offered throughout the community. We are on a mission to help revitalize neighborhoods, reduce crime, and enhance this great city. Our vision is to work with our community to reduce the barriers of success for thousands.

Our Mission

To bring opportunity  to our community through the development and delivery of effective initiatives aimed at building sustainable skills in our youth and disadvantaged.

Thanks for making this Christmas special for our little one. She’s all smiles. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. She loves her gifts.
